KIDS YOGA TEACHER TRAINING

"This training gave me an endless toolbox of fun and creative ways to share yoga with kids" CO 2017
"A phenomenal way to learn how to teach kids yoga, as the approach to teaching kids is so different than with adults. With the Om Ananda training, you not only learn the knowledge and reasoning behind the skills to teach kids, but you're inspired by the unique approach the teacher trainers take in sharing their background, knowledge, and experience with kids and kids yoga. Lead Instructors

Whitney Jaganmati Barry RCYT RYT 500
Whitney discovered yoga in 2010, immediately fell in love with it, and committed herself to her yogic practice and to spiritual evolution. In 2012 she became a certified yoga teacher, and then in 2014 she earned her 500 hour certification through ShambhavAnanda Yoga®. In December of 2016 she received her official children’s yoga training certificate. Whitney was a manager of Om Ananda Yoga, teaches meditation and assists Yoga Teacher Trainings. She absolutely loves children and has been working with them for almost as long as she can remember. She has worked in day care centers, as a nanny, a pre-school teacher, and a kids camp counselor. She has taught yoga to children at the Eldorado Mountain Yoga Ashram, Preston Middle School, and Respite Care. She also has worked in PSD facilitating PeaceKeeper circles with elementary aged children. She believes that yoga is an experience that contributes to a child’s physical, social, emotional, and cultural development. Her enthusiasm is a natural fit with kids and there’s not much she’d rather be doing then sharing yoga with them!

Chantel Akers RYT-500, RCYT
Chantel is a Colorado native and received her associates degree from FRCC and bachelors degree from CSU in Fort Collins. She took her first yoga class in 2005 and has been practicing yoga since. When at a Mommy & Me class with her daughter she had an “aha moment” and decided now was the time to pursue yoga teacher training! Fall of 2017 Chantel received her 200 hour certification from Om Ananda Yoga, a ShambhavAnanda Yoga affiliate. In pursuance of her new found passion to learn about the many aspects of yoga, she continued with the 300 hour certification and graduated in December 2018 as a RYT-500. Chantel became a certified Children’s Yoga Teacher in the summer of 2019 as she truly believes all ages can benefit physically, mentally and spiritually from yoga. She is honored to be a part of the yoga teacher trainings at Om Ananda Yoga.
